My Artifacts
This final take home exam consisted of a fictional law suit case involving contract breach, assault, liability, and copyright infringement. Utilizing what was learnt in class along with prior knowledge, precedential cases are used to bring a justified legal standing to this fictional case.

I've included this project because it was a fascinating and truly fun challenge to take a complex case and using my case research capabilities to comes to a just finding. Further heightening my research capabilities, this project is exemplary of my progress.
This research paper, from a class based around current labor conditions, focuses on the American education system and its founding. Additionally, this system has not yet evolved fast enough to keep up with technological advances. This puts all who go through the system, with special consideration to disadvantaged groups, are given a disservice.

This extensive project was a great challenge to my research skills and was a very rewarding piece of my own work. Having previously unknown the origins of American education nor understanding the "why", having the opportunity to explore both and how it affects modern education was enlightening.
This project, which revolves around a study of the 1976 Presidential Election was a paper designed to compare the era of media coverage then, to the 2020 Presidential Election. Having meant to just note the differences, the paper brings to light much more similarities in the election than previously expected.

The importance of the 2020 election cannot be understated, regardless of where one stands on the political spectrum. I felt similarly when writing this paper and was intrigued to see such similarity. This paper has been added to this collection to showcase my research in the elections' similarities.
The balance of payments memo is designed to extrapolate information about a country's economic breakdown - including credits, debits, FDI, and more. Essentially, "where does money in the country come from and where does it go?". This challenge had a steep learning curve of how the global economy works, taking into consideration trade deals, the 2008 economic slowdown, and more. Yet, the lessons retained and the new lens of research for topics like this are invaluable.

I've included this because this kind of economic understanding goes beyond supply/demand slope that economics classes teach. It deepened my understanding of the global economy and how deficits are managed.
This paper focuses on developing nations and the effects of Western powers implementing political and economic practices in these nations in attempts to help that ultimately undermine the nations' progress. The focus on the paper was primarily on women and girls in these developing nations and their circumstances following outside intervention.

The opportunity I had in writing this paper was to step outside a comfort zone and write on experiences that I have no shared experience in. Utilizing my driven passion for equality, researchers, and experiences of those I wrote about, I was able to formulate the consequences of certain policy implementation.
In one of my first policy-related classes at Bellevue College, written in 2018, this piece writes on why HB 2863 should be supported. The paper details the importance of the issue, why someone should support it, and how one can go about supporting it.

This piece exemplifies my growth and my natural interest in policy. Mentioned towards the end is an email I sent to Dave Reichert who was my congressperson at the time. I had fun with this paper because I had received a response from Reichert which propelled my interest in more local policy matters such as HB 2863.
A policy critique for the advocacy of net neutrality, this paper goes over critique of ISP services and Ajit Pai. It notes the importance of net neutrality and gives examples to the reader of how one can democratically prevent the disruption of net neutrality.
This paper was one of my first papers on policy critiques and it is featured on my projects page in part to show my learning progress in writing style and research capabilities.
A research paper that goes over the creation history of the healthcare system as we know it today. Who was involved in it, as well as why and how they created it. This paper was written on the theme of modern crises. The one I chose to write on describes how the inception of U.S. privatized health maintenance organizations intentionally set up millions of Americans for comparatively worse, more expensive healthcare for profit.

The opportunity was presented in researching these topics to learn more about an entity that many must deal with on a daily basis. This strengthened my research skills as well as interdisciplinary critical analysis of complicated topics.
